Bruno Gambone (1936-)
Bruno Gambone is a protagonist of contemporary ceramics. After starting to work in his father’s ceramics workshop in Florence, in 1963 he moved to New York and became a close friend of Pop Artists like Rauschenberg, Lichtenstein and Warhol. He later moved back to Italy, in Milan, and continued to work with international artists including Fontana. A multi-faceted artist himself, Gambone experimented colors, fabrics, glass and painting, employing several techniques, led by the idea of the close relationship between innovation and materials.
