Born in 1936 in Vietri sul Mare (Italy) in 1936., Bruno Gambone learned pottery from a very young age in the workshop of his father Guido (1909-1969), one of the greatest Italian potters of the 20th century.
In the early 1960s though, he started showing his paintings and moved to New York where he met Rauschenberg, Stella, Lichtenstein and Warhol.
One year before his father dies, in 1969, he moved back to Italy, and embraced the family tradition of ceramics.
The following year his father died and Gambone returned to Florence, devoting himself almost entirely to pottery. Since then, he has shown his work in various exhibitions both in Italy and abroad.
